PHOENIX air-conditioning hoses designed to accommodate alternative refrigerant
Our present development work is geared to accommodating the use of alternative refrigerants as dictated by EU regulation 70/156/EEC. The race for the refrigerant of the future has not yet been decided. Both R744 and Fluid H are still being tested but neither is yet in the home stretch.
The corresponding Phoenix products are already available for the natural refrigerant R744 (CO2). The increased demands with respect to pressure and temperature resistance and the high permeability of hypercritical CO2 makes necessary hose designs of a new kind. These are presently available.
- Pressure bearing hose for corrugated metal hoses can be used for all variants of the refrigerant cycle.
- Elastomer hose as alternative at the low-pressure and high-pressure ends.
For our existing product portfolio, we determine the permeation values and the material compatibility for use of these products with refrigerant alternatives thermodynamically analogous to R134a refrigerant cycles.
